Indo pioneer and the original free surfers of the modern era, Jim Banks walked away from his top 16 position on the world tour in 1982 to pursue his passion of testing himself and his designs in the most challenging and remote waves he could find. The photo of him dropping into giant Ulu's in the late 80's is still probably the largest wave ever photographed in Indonesia.
